Wine events
Celebrate South Tyrol's fine wine
Spring
South Tyrolean wine weeks
All the way along the "wine trail" in South Tyrol, a number of wine-related events are hosted, such as wine seminars and tastings and wine-related hiking tours. These events focus in local wine types such as Gewürztraminer, Lagrein and Vernatsch.
Cellar night
The closing event of the South Tyrolean wine weeks is the "cellar night". On this unique occasion, more than 30 wineries in the area around Bolzano/Bozen, Caldaro/Kaltern and Egna/Neumarkt open their cellars for tasting sessions, guided tours, readings and concerts. A shuttle service will take you from one venue to another.
South Tyrolean Blauburgund days
In all of Italy this is the only event dedicated purely to the Blauburgunder grape. The two picturesque villages of Egna/Neumarkt and Montagna/Montan have been known for producing this fine wine since the middle of the 19th century. This special event in May celebrates the unique qualities of this wine.
Fall
VinoCulti
The village of Tirolo/Dorf Tirol near Merano/Meran becomes a meeting point for wine lovers and gourmets in late fall. Here you will be able to participate in numerous events related to wine, such as readings, tastings and traditional Toerggelen evenings which celebrate the young wine.
South Tyrolean Riesling days in Naturno/Naturns
The Riesling grape variety is prominent in the region around Merano/Meran. Every year on this occasion, the locals gather to taste the young wine and award-winning chefs provide culinary delights for everyone to taste, and the local wineries open their doors and present their excellent wines to the enthusiastic public.
Merano International WineFestival & Gourmet
Gourmets, wine lovers and wine makers meet in the stylish environment of the Kurhaus building in Merano/Meran to taste, talk about and enjoy the latest wines from the region. The offer, however, doesn't stop there, and you can also try a variety of beers, olive oils and chocolates.
