Roots and values at Schenna Resort
In South Tyrol, June is a month full of living traditions. Corpus Christi and the "Herz Jesu" fires in particular shape this time of year – customs that have been passed down through generations and remain an important part of the region’s identity. Every year, around Sacred Heart Sunday, large fires are lit on the mountains as a symbol of unity, faith and a deep connection to the homeland.
Tradition also plays an important role at Schenna Resort. For the family, it does not mean standing still, but rather keeping values alive and carrying them forward.
For Florian, one of the young successors, tradition is closely connected to the future:
“Continuing my grandparents’ dream – that is my way of living tradition.”
His mother Heidi sees tradition above all as roots:
“Tradition means our origins – the holidays, rituals and stories of our ancestors. Passing on these customs, also to our guests, is indispensable to me.”
This attitude is reflected in many areas of the resort. At the Pföstl Winery, Stefan explains that nature determines the character:
“We only accompany, listen and support where it is needed.”
Here, tradition also means remaining open to the new. Modern architecture, contemporary spaces and sustainable development come together with Alpine character and long-standing values.
One word comes up again and again in conversations: gratitude. Gratitude for what has grown over generations, for the people who work here and for the guests who accompany the resort year after year.
Perhaps it is precisely this combination of roots and continuous development that makes Schenna Resort so special – a place that keeps evolving while staying true to its origins.
