It all began in Schenna with a dream.
At the Schenna Resort, wine is more than just an accompaniment to a meal – it is an expression of origin and philosophy. The man behind this distinctive style is Georg Weger, cellar master at the Pföstl Winery.
Originally trained as a construction engineer, he discovered his passion not in concrete, but in wine. He found his way to the vine via fruit growing and deepened his knowledge in South Tyrol, Germany and Tuscany.
Today, he runs the Pföstl Winery together with Stefan Pföstl. The vineyards around Schenna, Cermes, Marling and Riffian – characterised by granite and gneiss soils – lend the wines structure, elegance and a lively freshness. Crisp white wines, profound red wines, always full of character.
His philosophy: gentle vinification, plenty of time and patience, and ageing in used French oak barrels. The flagship wine “Valpitan” epitomises this approach.
The wines accompany the experience at the Schenna Resort all year round – in a glass with dinner, during special moments of indulgence, or at a wine tasting with Stefan Pföstl.

On 14 May, we invite you to join us at Restaurant LUMINIS for a special evening of indulgence entitled ‘Spring.Sounds.Sips’. With each course, we will serve a glass of wine from the Pföstl Winery, accompanied by the unique sounds of Stefano Rubino’s wine glass music.
