The südtirol festival merano . meran is held annually in the idyllic city of Merano and environs, representing an unrivalled musical highlight in South Tyrol. The stage for these performances is the tranquil spa town Merano.

The festival offers a varied programme with top-class musical performances: Classical, Romantic, Baroque, New Music, Jazz and World Music.

The Merano South Tyrol Grand Prix has a long tradition: For more than 80 years, bettors, jockeys and racehorses have met every year on the last Sunday in September at the historic Merano-Maia Racecourse in the spa town. The 1st edition dates back to the ceremonial opening of the Merano Racecourse on October 26, 1935. The prize money at that time was 1 million lire (approx. 480 Euros), a record sum that made the Grand Prix famous at the time as the "Million Race".

Oldtimer in colour: The Südtirol Classic Golden Edition. Breath-taking views, culinary highlights and wonderful rides through the mild South Tyrolean autumn landscape are once again at the heart of the Südtirol Classic – Golden Edition from October 1st to October 5th, 2024. Light barriers and stop watches are of no concern!

The International Brass Festival has created a forum for all those listeners who love brass music. For years, those responsible have endeavoured to bring top international ensembles to the spa town of Merano for a guest performance.

Culture & tradition - the Merano Grape Festival

Since 1886, the good autumn harvest has been celebrated with an impressive parade through the old town, accompanied by bands, Bohemian groups, traditional costume groups, horsemen, floats and many other participants.

The magnificent parade on Sunday morning attracts huge crowds of spectators.

The Merano WineFestival takes place in November at the Kurhaus Merano. It is now one of the most important wine fairs in Europe. For three days, fine wines from all over the world and delicacies are offered for tasting.

The supporting programme includes lectures, guided tours, tastings and award ceremonies. In this way, the Merano WineFestival, which is organised by Gourmet's International, also provides an outlook on the latest trends in enogastronomy. Excellent beers and spirits from the best breweries and distilleries in Europe will also be tasted and judged.

The wines will be accompanied by culinary delights under the Culinaria label. Here, the finest Italian products are discussed, delicacies are tasted and dishes from master chefs are savoured.
