The five ski areas near Merano/Meran

Merano 2000/Meran 2000

The Merano 2000/Meran 2000 ski resort is located on the plateau overlooking the Merano/Meran basin, above the villages of Avelengo/Hafling and Verano/Vöran. Ski fun is guaranteed from early December to late March. Merano 2000 offers a variety of slopes which are especially suitable for leisure skiers and families. This ski area above Merano/Meran is particularly appreciated for its sunny location and mild temperatures as well as for the many huts in the area serving traditional South Tyrolean dishes. With ca. 40 km of pistes, Merano 2000/Meran 2000  also appeals to the snowboarders and freeriders, who can put their skills to test on the several wide slopes and challenging runs of the “home” ski area of Merano/Meran. Merano 2000/Meran 2000 scores high with ski tour- and snowshoeing fans and cross-country skiers, too. And for the toboggan lovers, there is a 3 km long natural run.

The Val Senales/Schnalstal glacier

A cable car takes you to the highest mountain station in South Tyrol in less than 10 minutes. The Val Senales/Schnalstal glacier rises to 3,200 meters, with snow guarantee from autumn to spring. This ski area near Merano/Meran is suitable for skiers of all levels, from beginners to expert skiers. There is also a highlight for children: the Glacier Snowpark Val Senales and the Ötzilino ski club. The Val Senales/Schnalstal ski resort has something in store for cross-country skiers, too: a 5- to 10 km trail.

The Schwemmalm ski area

This family-friendly ski area near Merano/Meran, in the Val D’Ultimo/Ultental, offers 25 km of exciting, snow-sure pistes that are perfect for children. The longest run is 5 km long with a drop of 1,100 metres. Services include a ski- and snowboard school and all-day child care at the ski kindergarten “Bärenhöhle”. The Plan/Pfelders ski area

The Plan/Pfelders ski area in Val Passiria/Passeiertal near Merano/Meran offers a variety of pistes for beginners and pros.
